Description
This exciting new Trachycarpus species was recently discovered growing at high altitudes on the Himalayan arch near to the border with Burma boundary in Manipur and Nagaland, India. Also known as Trachycarpus sp. Naga hills and Trachycarpus sp. manipur, it grows to heights of up to 15 metre tall and with a straight, bare trunk.
It is extremely frost hardy, larger than Trachycarpus fortunei, and with impressive white undersides to the leaves, it looks set to be one of the best palms for the future.
