Podocarpus Chocolate Box is a hybrid between two other conifer trees (Podocarpus alpinus and Podocarpus nivalis). Podocarpus Chocolate Box migt be a remarkable name, but refers to the colour of its leaves. Young leaves are bronze of colour and turn green, only for them to turn into a chocolatey-brown in fall and winter. Chocolate Box is a small shrub that grows up to 100 cm tall. If placed in a somewhat sunny or halfsunny, sheltered location, it is a hardy plant.
