Chamaerops humilis 'Vulcano'
A variant of Europe's only native palm, reputedly named after the Vulcano island off Sicily where it was reportedly found growing. As the regular Chamaerops humilis it is one of the most cold-tolerant species of palm, withstanding heavy frosts. It is very popular in Europe.
Chamaerops humilis 'Vulcano' prefers full sun in a well drained position, but seems to adapt well to shade and damp conditions sol long as the soil is not prone to waterlogging.
It is probably the best palm to grow in a container where it can survive drought, wind, cold, heat and long periods of neglect!
