Agave parryii
Aficionados of Mediterranean and desert gardens would never consider omitting this spectacularly architectural plant. Its cluster of powdery-glaucous and pointed blue leaves, spiralling outward from the crown is simply beautiful. It’s a slow grower, native to the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico where the night temperatures plummet; surprisingly enough this exotic can withstand temperatures as low as -13C without protection! Be aware though that cold is not the only enemy; in winter you should protect your Agaves with a cover or roof.
