Origin of Dicksonia antarctica

Dicksonia antarctica, also known as the soft tree fern, is a tree fern species native to mainland Australia and Tasmania. The plant can reach up to 15 metres tall and has a thick, fibrous trunk with deep green leaves. Dicksonia antarctica is also known for being quite able to withstand colder temperatures as well.

Location

Dicksonia antarctica prefers a humid, half-shady to shady spot and is best planted in well drained soil. Ensure that the soil does not dry out, but avoid drenching it as well. Dicksonia antarctica is best sheltered against hard winds and severe frost.
