This plant comes from the Nepalese Himalayas, is similar to Trachycarpus martianus and is equally fast and rewarding to grow. It has slightly smaller leaves with fewer segments and is more tolerant of frost and drought as it grows further north at higher altitudes. Its leaves tend to be darker in colour.
