Description
Fargesia Winter Joy is a hybrid of the well known nitida and murieliae. It is a strong, non-invasive, clumping bamboo that is both hardy and evergreen. Generally grows up to 350-400 cm tall, 100 cm wide and handles pruning very well. Well suited as a hedge, as the bamboo grows bushy and creates a significant amount of privacy. In addition, it can be used well as a solitary plant, as the fresh green leaves create a beautiful contrast compared to its branches - which turn darker during winter. The general growth habit is upright, preventing it from looking untidy.
