Ensete ventricosum - Ornamental banana
Ensete ventricosum grows as an evergreen, perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of up to 6 meters (18 feet) and develops rhizomes. The large medium green leaves, about 3 meters (9 feet) long, are provided with a red central rib. The upright inflorescence consists of dark red colored leaflets; the small, leathery fruits are inedible.
