Actinidia arguta Issai is also known by name Kiwi. This mini kiwi is hermaphroditic and so is self-pollinating. This kind of mini-kiwi bears fruit from its second year and is grows less vigorously than other Actinidia arguta species. It is therfore suitable for smaller gardens and for trailing over a pergola, for example! The fruits of these mini-kiwi are not as large as the normal kiwi but must be peeled. The fruit has a green colour and the skin is smooth and hairless They taste just like a normal kiwi but somewhat sweeter. Fruits hang in bunches.
Kiwis are very healthy, full of vitamin C and the plant gives a tropical feel to any garden.
